  • An Enriched Classroom Environment Equals Student Success!

    Your contributions helped turn my empty classroom into an academically enriched classroom. I was able to fill it with all the necessary items that my students need when learning for example the number posters. Everyday for math we use the number posters to count to 20. These posters have helped my students in developing their number sense. Also, having a calendar to do morning circle has been a major contribution to our classroom. In using the calendar daily, my students have learned the days of the week and the months of the year. We will continue to use all the items that have enriched our classroom everyday!”

  • Books: Learning With a Much-Needed Break From Screen Time

    My fabulous fifth graders and I would like to thank you for your generosity and kindness towards our project "Books: Learning With a Much Needed Break From Screen Time." With your donations, our class was able to receive books that helped my students grow as learners and individuals. While reading, our class engaged in deep conversations about bullying, friendships, identity, and empathy. Reading these books has made our class community stronger.

    When my students got the books they were so excited and loved them so much. It makes me so happy to see my students reading for enjoyment. Also, I have seen growth in reading fluency for some of my struggling readers!

    We are so appreciative of your donations. As a teacher, I thank you for giving my students the opportunity to dig deeper into these wonderful stories. My students are not only better readers, but also better people because of these books! Thank you again for your generosity!”

Distance Learning has taught us all a lot about all of the technological tools that are available to us. I am so grateful for the ability to access reading materials on various websites so that my students still have access to great stories! However, there just is nothing quite like holding a book in your hands, feeling the pages turn, and losing yourself in the story. And I think so many of us are feeling the effects of so many hours looking at a screen. These books will not only help advance my students' abilities to comprehend stories on grade-level (with instructional support), but they also will provide the opportunity to escape the pressures of our current time as they experience reading in these tangible books. I can't wait to give my students their books! (It's a surprise!!!
