My students will have the opportunity of flexible seating, which will help them expend nervous energy as they are learning to sit for longer periods of time. As 4th graders, it is their second year of state testing, and they are expected to sit for longer periods of time. Their lessons will be more difficult, which can cause anxious behavior that flexible seating will help. Students with ADD/ADHD will especially benefit from flexible seating. Flexible seating stimulates learning for easily distracted students; it also gives a sensory experience that increases a student’s focus and ability to process information. I am excited about all the possibilities of such seating options!
