My students desperately need items that they can see, touch, and manipulate so that they can better understand complex mathematical concepts. For example, the number lines help students solve problems with positive and negative numbers visually. Students will be able to hold the 3-D shapes and build figures with the snap cubes to find volume and surface area. The 3-D shapes also help students learn to define figures by their base. Probability can be explored by doing experiments with dice and spinners. The angle legs will help students to measure angles, see the meaning of complementary and supplementary angles, and build shapes to explore area and perimeter.
