Mental Health is Wealth
Funded Aug 12, 2024Thanks to your generous donations, our alternative education program has transformed the mental health landscape for our students, particularly for our girls. The stress balls, fidget toys, and painting rocks have become essential tools in our daily routines. They help students manage anxiety and express themselves creatively during challenging moments. The mirrors encourage self-reflection and promote positive self-image, while the affirmation cards serve as daily reminders of their worth and potential.
Our girls are using these resources in individual and group sessions, where they engage in activities that build confidence and self-esteem. For instance, they create personalized affirmation cards and use them during group discussions, fostering a supportive environment where they uplift one another. Your support is making a tangible difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for believing in their potential!”

Funded Jan 5, 2024Because of your donations we were able to feed students who had not eaten and provide incentives for students who displayed appropriate behaviors or completed a task. We have found food and drinks to be a good reinforcer for our students for many reasons such as lack of access to food, lack of money, and of course, just their developmental stage :-)
So thank you for helping us to meet the needs of our students in ways that cannot be described. Being able to fulfill this small but very crucial needs helps guide students on the right track and put them in a better space for learning. This could not have been possible without you!”

Print Screen
Funded Mar 16, 2023Thank you for your kind and generous contribution to our school. We have been able to use the ink to print color copies of work for students. Seeing things live and in color certainly make a difference down to the little details, especially for our special education students who require additional accommodations to be successful in the classroom. Additionally the ink has been used for the special education department as we understand the importance of confidentiality and have our own printer that only members of the department have access to. This has allowed us to safeguard our papers as well as provide the best quality work for our students and families. Thank you again for everything.”

Hungry to Learn
Funded Dec 9, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our school. Our students have enjoyed just about everything provided. Not only has it helped to feed empty bellies, it has also helped with developing relationships with students. Meeting this basic need of hunger has increased their level of trust with me and other staff members that we care enough to make sure we are meeting their needs. We understand that this basic need (as well as others) is important for helping set students up for academic success. Again, thank you so much for supporting our school and the great things we hope to accomplish as community.”

Funded Dec 9, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our school. The teachers and students have grown to love the resources very much and they have been put to great use already. With us moving into a new school building this year, we have allowed our students the artistic freedom and flexibity to be creative with making this school their own. Our hope is to establish a stronger relationship within our school community. These resources have been an asset to that mission. Additionally, we have found it to be very therapeutic for our students. We have allowed our students to have access to these resources when they are frustrated, upset, sad, etc. as a positive and creative outlet to express themselves. Again, thank you so much for supporting our school and the great things we hope to accomplish as community.”

Funded Mar 4, 2022Thank you so much for your generous contributions to our student's social and emotional wellness. Returning from the pandemic had it ups and down and all kinds of challenges. We knew that it would be a difficult year so it was really important to focus on the mental health of our students, helping them readjust to the learning environment, and learn new coping skills to regulate their emotions. These items were invaluable to that process. We were able to create a safe space to reacquaint ourselves with students using the resources such as the blocks with questions and has help them open up and process the previous years events. Fidgets are still being used in the classroom to this day, as you can imagine it has been difficult for students to readjust to sitting in the classroom for long periods of time. The fountain has been said to be very wondeful visual piece but also calm and relaxing. All in all the resources were wonderful to be able to support students with being mindful of five senses, what their body is telling them, and just continuing to build relationships with students in a fun and engaging way. So again, many thanks for your generous donations. You are appreciated!!!”

Funded May 4, 2020Thank you all for your generous donations for our school. Unfortunately due to COVID-19 we have not yet been able to use the materials, as our spring basketball season during the 2019-2020 school year was cancelled. Additionally, we have not yet returned to school so far this year. So you will see a lack of pictures, particuarly those that include students receiving or using the materials. The materials were delivered to my school and I was provided with email and picture confirmation that they were delivered. They have been set aside for me in my office. We are expected to return to school in February 2021; so at this time I am expecting that we would still be able to have a basketball season, as our season, as an alternative league, takes place in the spring of each year. So please know that your contributions will not go to waste. I am excited for the students to return to school and not have to worry much about preparing for the basketball season as we will have materials ready and available for them to allow for a smoother transition back. Again, my sincere thanks.”

Christmas in January
Funded Jan 30, 2020Thank you all again so very much. My students were so very excited to receive the many contributions you gave in support of them and their families. I am especially grateful given the current state that we are in with the COVID-19 pandemic. Since we are required to quarantine at home with our loved ones, the many educational materials and toys you have provided will allow my students to spend time with their families and have fun while still being able to provide education based activities with their children. The learning does not have to stop because they are not in school. I do have access to video chat with so many of them, so I can't wait to see all the wonderful progress from my students and their families as a result of this. Again, thank you so very much for your support and donations!”

Funded Sep 17, 2019Thank you so very much for your donation. Our students have enjoyed everything that you have provided for us. We have been able to use these snack and chargers, headphones and more as motivators to encourage good behavior from our student. They look forward to being able to earn a reward of a snack or prize. At the same time we are also able to provide a learning opportunity as to the benefits of their positive behaviors and how it translates to other areas of life, particularly in preparation for their future. Again, on behalf of our staff and students, thank you so very much!”
