The items in this project will assist with building our classroom’s climate and culture. They will help set the tone for learning and help ensure my students' success. The area rug will be used to bring my students together in one space, speaking to the environment of camaraderie that will be built. The neon paper trays and tabletop paper center will assist me in organizing so that my students can come into a tidy and clean environment conducive to their learning. The concept of time is something that we all often take for granted. So, in my classroom, time management will be very important. In order for my students to grasp this concept, the giant classroom timer is a necessity. This will help my students pace themselves wisely, help them keep on task, and always be aware of the time they have to do work. The place value answer boards will help create concrete visuals for my students for the concept of place values. And the rainbow fraction tiles will help my students with their fluency and number sense while adding a pop of brightness to their days. Because I will be integrating art into my math and science lesson plans, scissors, colored pencils, crayons, and glue are necessities as well. I would like for my students to have access to the materials they need to show their best artistic side. Lastly, one of the biggest items, the stability balls, are huge in that they will help all students focus, increase productivity, build their core strength (health component), and will also help teach them another aspect of safety. This entire project is just a portion of what I know can help students succeed. And if fully funded, my students will be well on their way to success.
