We all know how technology plays an important role in today's education. Students receiving an early head start in developing those computers skills will benefit them greatly as they move to the upper grades and in life. In my Pre-K classroom I have twenty-two students and one computer. It can be very difficult to arrange a schedule for many students to use the computer during class time with one computer. Although it is my desire to have all students have the opportunity, it is impossible. I know my request for four tablets won't meet the needs of all twenty-two students, but it will give me more advantage to work in computer time within the class schedule. My idea would be to use the tablets during small group learning, to help student hone in on the skills they need, such as math, literacy, etc. Students will also be able to develop better hand-eye coordination, promote cognitive development and school readiness, enhance social interaction, improve spatial skills and problem solving. I know my student's learning will be enhanced as they navigate through cyberspace, enjoying as they interact and engage with many activities as they explore beyond the classroom.
