After spending what felt like an eternity away from my students and the classroom, I am so excited to jump back into teaching my whole class in person but I am very aware that things will never be the same. My students have experienced a year unlike any other and I want being back in the classroom to feel new, exciting, and therapeutic in many ways. They should have access to resources that engage and inspire them to learn far beyond what they thought was capable. While I am excited to get back to a sense of normalcy through the use of physical reading materials, I do not want the digital education we have grown the love to end either. These iPads will be transformational for my classroom as they will help me to create a fun and educational technology center that will give my scholars access to exploration and information at their fingertips. Flexible seating promotes a classroom where student voice and choice is not an opinion but a priority. I cannot begin to count the number of times as a student I have wished for a classroom and a teacher that honored my perspective and encouraged me to elevate my voice. I want my students to be comfortable as we engage in small group practice and as they utilize our cool-down corner to regulate themselves and manage their emotions. I am excited to see how these materials create an environment of enrichment, diversity, curiosity, and choice!
