  • Listening to Learn

    Funded Aug 12, 2021

Thank you so much for your quick response in funding this project. My students are so excited that everyone will have headphones to use with our classroom computers! I can't wait to see their faces when the box arrives and we get to open it together. You definitely made the first week of school amazing.”

  • Tools for Focus & Growth

    Funded Jul 23, 2021

I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation. What a great surprise to check my email and see that the project was fully funded and just in time for school to start. I cannot wait to use the pop-its to help students relieve stress and focus during class. I am really exicting to see how yoga and breathing can be utilized to help students focus and grow.”

  • A Place to Read

    Funded Jul 9, 2020

I really appreciate your support of my classroom this year. As you know, we had to rethink everything in light of COVID restrictions and social distancing. The reading cushions that were purchase with this project were perfect for doing this. Each student had their own cushions and could use them throughout they day as they wanted.

Some students used them as a comfortable seat for their chair during lessons and other work that was done at the desk. Other students used them as cushions to sit or lay on the floor. Students loved using them to provide a comfortable place to read. They were so excited to see the individual reading cushions and they used them everyday to read, writing, and be more comfortable while socially distant.

Thank you so much for supporting this project.”

  • A Library Like Me ...

    Funded Jul 8, 2020

Thank you so much for contributing to this project to get more books into my classroom that feature characters from different cultures. My students are really enjoying reading books where the main characters look like them.

We have used these books in a variety of ways. I have used them as read-a-louds to the whole class. The students also have selected them to read during their independent reading time. For my online students, I have used them during small group zoom meetings to read with students. It has been great having books that make everyone feel welcome and part of our classroom.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Flexible Seating to Improve Learning Outcomes!

    Funded Oct 23, 2019

This project has given our classroom a wonderful place to work. The students were so excited to see the new table and super comfortable flexible seating chairs. They couldn't wait to try out the chairs. We had to take turns sitting in them to partner read so everyone could try them.

We use them all the time. They are a great place for our computer station in Math. During writing everyone wants a chance to sit and write. The table allows for excellent collaboration during group projects. One project in particular was our community building project. One of the groups enjoyed using the table. It was perfect to have another work space because we had six groups and needed to extra table to work at.

Our next project is still in the works, but I am thinking about ipads or other tablets so students could read their books and record them to share with each other and younger students as well.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Schubert

Students learn better when they have flexible seating and work in cooperative groups. Our classroom has desks that we have arranged in groups and a large open area for class discussions. This project will provide a new cooperative learning space for students to read, write, work on math activities, and work together. Much of our reading and writing is done in partner groups and this project will create a flexible space for groups to work together. This will also be perfect for our books clubs to use for discussing their books. We can also use it during our Math center time. There are so many possibilities for this flexible seating that the options are endless. I can picture my second graders gathered around the table discussing their favorite books. Please help us and be a part of our classroom community. Thank you!
