  • Meeting Basic Needs

    Funded Dec 26, 2021

The generosity shown in funding this project has been overwhelming. I have been able to provide daily and weekly snacks to children that are in desperate need. The snacks are kept in a neutral location in order to lessen the chance of embarrassment if a child is hesitant to ask for a snack.

The students were so excited to see such a variety of snacks being delivered to the classroom. They knew that they didn't have to pay for them and could have them as needed.

At the end of the school year, students that are in need of food will have a bag to take home. Knowing that they will have some sort of food to eat makes leaving for the summer a little easier. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Bowling

  • Sensory Materials Needed For Special Education Students!

    Funded Feb 9, 2022

The students in my classroom are using the new resources in a variety of ways. Education has changed so much since I was in school and students have more emotional needs than ever. Students experience trauma prior to entering school or experience events that create trauma on a daily basis. One student has found comfort in using the light board. She has been able to regain composure after an explosive behavior episode by using the light board to create soothing pictures. Another student loves the cuddle ball. He said it made him feel like he was getting a big hug. In small group sessions, the students benefit from the flash cards and social stories to help them identify emotions/feelings.

The students' reaction to seeing the materials when they arrived was such a heartwarming day. They were so excited to check out the different materials. The students have been involved in planning ways to use the materials in our daily routine.

The next steps for my classroom are to continue implementing the materials into the students' everyday life. It is important for these students to learn how to manage and understand their feelings.

We appreciate each and every item that was donated. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We are going to finish this school year out strong and emotionally healthy!”

  • Virtual Learning Supplies!

    Funded Nov 21, 2020

I am so grateful to have received much needed school supplies for my students. Even though our school is still virtual, these supplies are available at any time for all of our students. We have sorted them and each student receives pencils, paper, folders, a pencil pouch, and paper. We have had a number of students come into the school for in-person assistance. Those students were given these items upon arrival. They were excited and the most common response is, "These are the first school supplies I've had all year. It makes school feel real!"

I can't thank you enough for giving my students a small sense of normalcy in this most unprecedented time. Being able to provide them with these materials has been a blessing.”

  • Staying Connected to My Students!

    Funded May 18, 2020

I am so very thankful for this project being funded because it has allowed me to stay in touch with my students. With the uncertainties of attending school and having to make the quick decision to work from home, this project being funded has allowed me to feel somewhat at ease. I know that I can be available to talk to my students through google meets and provide them with meaningful lessons while we are learning virtually. I thank you from the bottom of my heart and I promise to use this tool for the benefit of my students.”

  • A “Goodbye to 7th Grade” Gift!

    Funded May 7, 2020

The distribution of materials to my students went absolutely amazing. The kids were so happy to see me and receive their goody bag. The amount of times that I heard, "I love and miss you" made all the work of putting the bags together so worth it.

Because of your donation, I was able to give my students a proper goodbye. The effect of Covid-19 on our students has been horrific. Not being able to check on them face-to-face has been extremely difficult.

By giving them the opportunity to come to the school, they had a small sense of normalcy. We have air hugs and practiced social distancing, but they could feel the love through our facial expressions and words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your donation.”

  • Classroom Library Needed!

    Funded Dec 18, 2019

I would like to thank you again for your gratitude towards our classroom library. My students and I were so excited to open our books and discuss each one.

The students helped to create a checkout system immediately. They each chose a book to read and the discussions were phenomenal. They have challenged one another to read the entire library before the end of the school year. It has been a blessing to have these novels within the classroom. It allows students to stay in my classroom and to not worry about late fees in the library. Reading in my classroom is so important. I strive to encourage my students to get lost in the story and depend on their imagination.

Thank you so much for allowing us to have our very own classroom library.”

  • If Baseball is Life, Then Softball Must be Heaven!

    Funded Feb 1, 2020

I am absolutely ecstatic to be able to share these products with my girls! Thank you from all of us. We will make great use of this equipment this season and many more after! Being able to provide them with the best makes my job of Coach a bit less worrisome. We are greatly appreciative!”
