  • Kindergarten Readers!

    Funded May 28, 2020

    This project has been amazing for distance learning. With the purchase of teachers pay teachers gift cards I was able to purchase digital readers and other digital resources for my students.

    The digital readers purchased align with the literacy program I use. The readers have allowed the students to connect with the literacy story of the week and practice reading the vocabulary words on their own. I am able to send the readers digitally for them to practice reading at home during distance learning, since I am unable to provide physical materials. My kiddos have loved them!”

  • Headphones for Kindergarten Technology Success

    Thank you so much for your kind donations! Your kindness purchased 26 headphones for our class. We began using them right after receiving them. We have been able to put the headphones to good use in our classroom.

    We have been using the headphones during our small group center time. Each child uses a chrome book and headphones to do Lexia, our online reading program. The program is based on each child's level and having headphones allows the students to focus on what they are doing without noise interruption from others. The headphones have really helped improve our center time and the children love them!”

Our school has been given 1-to-1 student Chromebooks for use in the classroom. Having the opportunity to use technology in the classroom is exciting for students who have little exposure to technology. In our weekly 30-minute computer lab session they enjoy our school online reading program, typing, math activities, and our brand new coding program. In order to have students use the Chromebooks in the classroom, each student needs a set of headphones. Headphones for each child will allow the students to work independently with technology in the classroom. Engagement with technology in the classroom will support students during small group time, whole class time, and independently. They will be able to complete group coding projects as well as independently practice reading and math activities. Engaging in computer-based activities will help to promote student excitement for school and build foundational skills that will support them as they progress in school.
