Science in Preschool!
Funded Apr 3, 2023Thank you again for your support in helping our classroom project come to life! Thanks to your donations we were able to enhance our science area with the talking microscopes. You helped enhance student curiosity and reinforce their language development.
Now that our Science area is more inviting our students are learning turn taking because only four students are allowed at one time. Our classroom was able to experience more opportunities doing science experiments. Thanks to the droppers and food coloring you donated, students were able to mix colors and predict what new color it would make.
Your donations also helped to teach why vinegar and baking soda cause an erupting effect. We have learned so much more thanks to your support. We have many students that now want to be Scientist instead of police officer because they enjoy making "potions," as one of my students says. They really enjoyed how science came to life in their own hands! Thank you for all these amazing learning experiences!”

Funded Sep 7, 2022Thank you so much for your kind donations! Thanks to you my students became ENTOMOLOGIST!! They were able to learn the butterfly life cycle. The hands on experiences I was able to provide thanks to your donations made a powerful impact on my students' learning. They all took interest in observing and documenting their observations by drawing what they observed.
I was amazed on how easily they could explain the process of the butterfly life cycle and the rich vocabulary. I was so proud of them!”

Funded May 4, 2022Thank you for your donations to help bring our class project to life. Our students were so happy when they saw all the goodies they received. They enjoy doing hands on activities. They especially love the, "Rainbow Scratch Paper." Thanks to your donations students were able to elaborate their creativity when doing art activities. We were able to create Mother's Day gifts with students' pictures on the canvas. We helped them last for years by protecting them with the Mod podge you donated. Thanks again for your support. We still have some materials left that are enough for our students this new 2022-2023 school year. Thanks again for all your support!”

Funded Dec 2, 2021Thank you for your support in helping our classroom project come to life. It arrived before winter break and students were so happy and excited. They loved the gushy sensory toys and large pop-its. Thanks to your kindness every student was able to take a gushy toy home and keep one in the classroom. Due to COVID many students returned to school with social emotional needs. Preschool is students' first school experience and you have helped us make preschool learning more exciting. They get to learn math with pop-its and nap with a gushy toy (when they miss their family).
They are able to take their pop-its to the take a break area when they need some alone time or to the library center. Some pop-its have rainbow colors, students are learning colors while they play.
Our next study for the following six weeks is Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. We will be learning how we can reuse (clothing, plastic, glass, aluminum, toys). We will learn what items we can recycle and take to the recycling center. We will save the money and vote as a class to buy a learning STEM toy. We will learn what items can be reduced. For example, plastic water bottles. We can buy one reusable bottle and refill it instead of buying plastic ones. We will also learn that they can trade their toys instead of buying new ones. One example will be with the pop-its you helped donate. I will teach them that we can sanitize them and they can trade them amongst each other. Again thanks a lot for your kindness in making our classroom project come to life.”

Funded Nov 10, 2021Thank you for the kinetic sand, playdoh, and playdoh scissors. Your donation makes learning so much more fun and teaching so much easier. As soon as we received your donations we used them for a literacy activity. We made letters with playdoh and students used the playdoh scissors to cut the playdoh to help them form letters.
All the students were so surprised and happy to see the donations. When it was clean up time they were handing me the scissors and playdoh. I told them they are for you to keep and they were even happier. They were so excited because they each had their own scissors and playdoh.
Thanks to your donation we are able to ellaborate on their literacy skills, fine motor skills, vocabulary and social emotional development. Our next lesson will be students making characters with their playdoh after listening to a read-aloud. We will also be making leaves for the fall and Christmas trees for the holidays. I have created some Playdoh mats for Math that will help students count, do one to one correspondence and learning to acknowledge the last number counted. Thanks again for helping me making learning fun to my students!”

Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you for helping me bring more books into my classroom. Our students were so happy to see new books in our classroom. Your kind donation helped to ellaborate in different areas of social emotional development. The feelings book helped break down and explain in details different types of feelings and why we act or feel a certain way. Other books helped to hear students' comments and feelings of how certain characters behaved in a story. The anatomy books engaged students with the amazing pictures and helped built on their vocabulary.
Reading in our classroom is done during circle time in large groups, small groups, during breakfast and lunch. We also have classroom books on a wooden book display next to a big, red, comfy couch. Students are able to sit down and look at books from the book display. We also give students opportunities to make their own puppets after read-alouds. Students love looking at books and listenig to stories.
We have students ages 2-5 year olds and they all enjoy the books. The younger ones enjoy the touch and feel books. The older ones enjoy books too and get excited when they notice our classroom has new books. At times I have to put a five minute timer because they want to look at the same book. Thanks again for all the great books!”

Funded Mar 31, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donations. Thanks to you I was able to bring my project to life and make learning fun for my diverse learners. The Magna Doodles kept students engaged while learning math, literacy and art. They had many opportunites to strengthen their fine motor skills and be creative while drawing.
Thanks to your donation I will be able to use them this new school year 2021-2022. My students enjoyed them so much! I am so happy because we are able to sanitize them, allowing all students to use them. Thanks again for your kindness!”

Funded Apr 4, 2021Thank you for allowing our project, "Building with Letters," come to life. Students were beyond excited to use the magna tile letters and the robot letters. Thanks to your donations students were able to strengthen their fine motor skills, develop their critical thinking skills and enhance their literacy, math and language abilities.
Thank you for giving our students the opportunity to learn through play. As students built towers and opened up the letter robots they did not realize they were learning letters and rote counting too. I am extremely grateful and excited because your donation will also help my new students for the new 2021-2022 school year. Thanks a million!”

Funded Mar 30, 2021I am extremely grateful for your donations. I was so excited watching the students' happy faces while they opened their kinetic sand boxes. Students have been using their kinetic sand for literacy, math and indoor/ outdoor free play. The kinetic sand has also been used to help students relax when they are upset. It has helped them strengthen their fine motor skills as they make sea animals with the molds (crab, fish, and turtles). Due to COVID students took the kinetic sand home, but I will be able to use the plastic trays and molds with my new students. I will create a new project to help get new kinetic sand for my new students. Thanks for helping me make learning fun!”

Funded Mar 28, 2021Thank you so much for your amazing donations! My students and I were beyond excited when we opened up all the boxes! Students have been challenging themselves in building dinosaurs using the pretend screws and screwdrivers. Students have also enjoyed building gardens with the garden kit. Thank you for allowing our project, "Critical Thinking with STEM," come true. Your donations have encouraged all my students boys and girls to participate and remain engaged in building. Your donations have helped all our students build language, strengthen their fine motor skills and develop their critical thinking skills. It has also helped with their self-confidence, when they see what they have built and accomplished with persistence.”
