Research states Art Improves Academic Performances by teaching students how to interpret, criticize, and use visual information. The art room is in desperate need of art supplies. Firstly, we need a drying rack. Currently, we have to pile all the wet work on a small counter space and papers end up stuck together. Secondly, Supplies are nearly depleted by the time it gets around to every class. I would like to provide more color sticks and tempera cakes; I have found these materials to be the most durable for our daily projects. I would like to provide building blocks in the centers to help develop motor skills for the younger grades and enhance the learning experience for my differentiated learners who may have difficulty with drawing, coloring and painting. I would like supplies for my Art Club students, they love to decorate the stage for school performances with gems and making bracelets with pipe stems and beads. These supplies will be used by students to create artwork that will proudly be displayed at our district annex building, entered in various art contest, and community projects. Last year the students received a heart felt " Thank you" letter from The Children in Hospital Program for creating holiday cards for their hospitalized students. My students also created holiday cards for a near by senior center as well.
