As I am starting my classroom from the bottom up as a first-year teacher in a new ASD Pre-K program, I want to create a dynamic, engaging classroom environment for all of my kiddos!
These items will ensure that my students are attending and participating in various classroom activities, all the while working on various imperative skills including turn-taking, communicating, cooperative play, and fine motor skills.
As a special education preschool teacher, I want to have a broad repertoire of activities to engage all types of learners and meet each student where they are at, so that each will grow and learn throughout their time spent with me.
The specific resources I requested here will add to the overall diversity and effectiveness of my classroom activities. The Alphabet Mystery Box and Gumball Grab will help teach my kids important pre-academic skills such as labeling and identifying colors and numbers. Participating in tabletop activities including the Window Blocks, Clear-View Marble Run, and Create-a-Burger Sequence Stacker will help with turn-taking, commenting while playing, and imitating 1-2-3 step play. Sensory activities including the Design & Build Water Blocks, Scooter Boards, Sensory Ball Set, Dot Art Painters, and Kinetic Sand will give my kids an appropriate and functional sensory outlet. The Hold-A-Ring Walking Rope will ensure the safety of my kiddos during large group transitions. Finally, the Around Town Play Carpet, Wooden Train Set, Community Garages, and Community Vehicles will be apart of my blocks area, in which we will target skills including pretend-play, commenting during play, and turn-taking.
