Rest time allows the bodies and minds of my students to rest and recharge! From the moment my students step foot into the school, their day is go-go-go! The products that have been selected will provide my students with a comfortable, quality place to rest and recharge their minds before they take on the second half of our Pre-K day! Before we even think about resting, we have already accomplished the following (and sometimes more!): -Gained gross motor skills in the gym -Practiced our number skills through calendar time -Worked on our creative and cognitive development during small group -Practiced our letter sounds and produced rhyming words during phonological awareness -Got messy with glue and glitter during large group time. -Learned through free play time in our centers -Problem solved to figure out how to put away our center time activities during designated clean up -Gained listening skills during story time -Practiced new social emotional skills during second step -Worked our gross motor skills during outside time All of this happens before we even THINK about rest time! Did you know that we do MORE after rest time? There’s still large group literacy, music, outside, story time, and lunch! Can you imagine being four and being engaged in all of that with high energy and 21 of your best friends with still more to do after lunch? Whoa! My students do this every single day! They need a break, a calm down time, a rest---a RECHARGE! Though my students may come from various socioeconomic backgrounds and diverse challenges at home, my students all come to school each day ready to learn and take on educational adventures. Your kind donations will allow my students a time for rejuvenation that will recharge them to succeed in the second half of our Pre-K day!
