  • Teamwork Makes the Steam-Work

    Funded Sep 13, 2020

Thank you so much for your contributions to this project! Students have learned so much about STEAM through incorporating literature into the lessons each week. These books have been able to reach students through remote teaching and hybrid lessons, making a nice bridge between students in school and at home learning.

Problem solving through the use of these texts has helped students to put themselves in the point of view of the characters and design solutions to help the characters solve their problems. Developing these skills from a young age helps students to strengthen their growth mindset and ability to work and adapt through challenging tasks. By connecting these hands on tasks with literature, also allows students to strengthen their language and reading comprehension skills, while seeing themselves represented in the field of STEM.

I can't thank you enough for your contributions. Getting these books into the hands of my 700 students and all of my students for years to come will help to create a world full of problem solvers!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Durazzano

  • Help Them Wiggle, So They Can Learn!

    Funded Aug 13, 2019

Thank you so much for your time and thoughtful donations to this project! The wobble stools, wiggle seats, and rug chairs, have all been welcomed into the classroom with open arms. My students have loved getting to try out all of the different flexible seating options and are benefiting from the ability to have different learning spaces throughout the classroom. We are so grateful to have such caring people, who truly value the importance of educating the future generations, we wouldn't have been able to do it without you! Thanks again for all of your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Durazzano

People love to move, especially kids and my Second Graders are no different. When my kids are moving around they are more engaged and learn more during the day. When students get to choose which seating choice works best for them, they are learning essential life skills such as responsibility, decision making and self-regulation. Having furniture that allows students to get their wiggles out throughout the day, allows them to stay alert and involved during the lessons. By giving them access to these flexible seating options, students are able to be typical 7 and 8 year olds...always on the move!
