With your help, we can provide the 6th-grade students at UMP a strong start to their middle school adventure. Donations will be used to help supply my scholars with basic classroom supplies (pencils, erasers, etc.) help create a clean and organized room (storage, folders, etc.) and accommodate the diverse learners (all students benefit from manipulatives and extension activities). An inclusive math classroom accommodates for different learning styles by using a variety of learning tools, math manipulatives, technology, and other items to promote unique, varied, and evidence-based instructional practices that help learners access the content. In addition to making math accessible, I plan to create lessons that engage my students and help them recognize that math can be fun and is relevant. Engagement includes math/logic games and social justice projects that examine issues like building sustainable communities, examining segregation in housing, and exploring social inequities through the examination of data. I believe that every student is capable of learning and deserves access to high-quality learning environments and education. Thank you so much for your support! “I am Mighty! We are Mighty!”
