  • Building a Community on the Field!

    Words alone cannot express how the resources you provided are benefiting the students who are using them. We had a first game two weeks ago and the students were thankful that they were able to practice with all the materials you provided. Last year our team was comprised of 20 students. This year, due to all the materials provided and all the buzz around campus that we had been provided these materials, the team consists of 45 students and it is still growing. That means there are 45 students who are deciding to stay on campus and work at making themselves better players on the field and off the field and not leaving school and getting involved with matters that might impact their character or get them in trouble.

    I remember the first day of practice and I walked out with all the materials and set up the goals for the students, their eyes lit up and they could not believe they had the opportunity to play and practice with actual nets and more than five balls. The students are so thrilled for practice days. They are improving on the field and even in the classroom with participation, citizenship and grades. Your donation has truly impacted the lives of many students and it continue to grows as the team grows.”

The reason for the soccer balls and goals is to help grow our soccer team in order to keep students off the streets and to get them to build a community within the school. Students who will have to maintain good citizenship and grades to participate in soccer games. All students will have the opportunity to participate in practices. By having the necessary equipment, it will help encourage children to come to practice after school and also encourage them to perform well in the classroom. Sports is a great way to help build comradery and also help learn responsibility. By having the basic tools to support our soccer team at school, it will help inspire students to participate in an after school activity and stay away from activities outside of school that may be detrimental to them.

About my class
