  • Perfect Pencils

    Funded May 17, 2022

Thank you so much for helping my classroom this year and many years to come. Having reliable writing utensils and methods to keep them in working order is always a necessity in any classroom. This year has just started but already my students and I are enjoying smoother transitions and quicker response times. We are really enjoying being able to use our brand new pencil sharpeners, color pencil sharpener, and pencils any time we need. It seems like a small thing, but having this not be a point of contention leaves us available to focus on more important things.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Santillan

  • Colorful Learning

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you so so much for helping our classroom to be a brighter, more creative place to be. My students have loved having such easy access to new art supplies and possibilities. We have already been able to do many projects this year. Our favorite part has been the art drying rack. Being able to have all of our projects drying and waiting in one spot has been a game changer. It allows us to do art in chunks when we have time and be able to piece things together at the end. It lets us do art more often because we don't have to commit large time chunks. Thank you again and again.”

  • Fun Seats

    Funded Aug 21, 2022

I am beyond excited for this project! We are new to flex seating and are so excited to give it a try! I really do feel like my kiddos work the best when they get to choose how they work. Thank you so so much! You all just made 25 kids very happy!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Santillan

  • Fresh Air

    Funded Jan 22, 2022

Thank you so much for helping us to reach our goal of more outdoor time and fun activities. My students have loved having so much PE equipment at their fingertips. We were able to work on learning organized sports as well as focus on freetime and imaginative games.

I was so surprised to learn that many of my students had never seen or played kickball before. I was even more surprised when I equated it to baseball and found out that many of these amazing 4th graders also had never seen or played that before either.

It was a fun year with many great memories made. Thank you so much for helping bring those smiles to my kids faces.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Santillan

  • Fun Based Learning

    Funded Nov 19, 2021

Thank you so much for helping our class get the tools we so greatly appreciated! My students have been over the moon excited to finish assignments, pull out academic and steam based games, and get to playing! I have seen a great increase in engagement, basic skills that have eluded many for the year, and overall joy in the classroom.

My class has become masters of scrabble, which leads to fantastic dictionary and team building skills. They also breeze through fractions now that we have games associated with that skill. Thank you many times over!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Santillan

  • Yearbook Creators

    Funded Apr 28, 2021

Thank you so much for helping my students reach our goal and acquire our new yearbook cameras. We are still building our program this year, but having these amazing tools in the hands of students as we learn will be so dynamic. My students and I are still getting comfortable with things and really appreciate the opportunity to learn and take charge with our school's memories. My kids light up when they see that these tools are theirs to learn on and work with. They are becoming such capable yearbook builders and I couldn't be happier. Thank you again and again.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Santillan

  • Reading Club Books!

    Funded Mar 3, 2021

Thank you so much for helping us to reach our goal and be able to have our own classroom reading club! As a class, we read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory together. They were beyond excited to recieve their very own copy of Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. We read it together everyday, really discussed the plot, summarized it often, and just had a great time. Most of my kids said that our book club was, by far, their favorite part of the year. Thank you so much for helping to create a bright spot in a pretty uncertain year.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Santillan

Since the start of this year my class has been learning through distance learning. We were all unsure about how this was going to happen and how classes would develop the typical bond we are so used to having. As a nervous teacher, I went to what I knew and that was reading together. I researched how to download books from our local library and starting having a bit of a read-aloud everyday. I was unsure how the class would react to the break in instruction, would they struggle with the distance story, would they zone out and turn off their camera? All was unclear. I kept going out of my own love for reading. Today, after 8 weeks of daily read-alouds I finally heard my answer. The students were fighting me to keep reading! They wanted just one more chapter, they had to know what happened next. My students are engaged, they are loving stories and wanting to read so much more. I know that many platforms exist to help people access books, but to my class my Kindle E-reader is their mode of transportation to unknown lands. I would like to have an incentive for my students in the unsure months to come. I would like to give them an opportunity to win a Kindle for their home every time they increase their reading goal. My plan is to enter their name in a drawing each time a student earns a point towards their AR reading goal from now until Christmas. Before Winter Break, I will draw the names of the winners celebrate all students' victory with the new Kindle or a new book (book provided by me).
