My classroom currently has one computer in it. With such limited technology, I am not able to expose my students to resources that would help them be successful. Should this grant be funded, my students would be able to explore science topics. One of the projects my class does each year is The Talking Zoo. It is a very detailed project where students explore a certain animal, research information on that animal, create a report and then present their information to parents and fellow students. This grant would help ensure that my students would have the resources needed to complete this project. In addition to science, my students would also be able to play games that would reinforce language arts and math concepts. Over time, I have compiled a wealth of online resources that make learning fun. Some of the math concepts in second grade, including telling time and place value, can be quite difficult. However, students truly enjoy working on these skills through online resources.
