  • Future Builders, Coders, and Engineers

    Funded Jan 3, 2025

I sincerely thank you for your generous donation to my class project. Your support has made a significant impact, helping to enhance the learning experience for my students. Your contribution will allow us to access valuable resources and create an enriching environment that fosters growth and creativity. We are truly grateful for your kindness and belief in our mission.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lavan

  • Future Builders, Coders, and Engineers

    Funded Dec 5, 2024

Thank you for helping fund this project for my students. They are excited to use these resources for their STEM projects and to work towards careers in computer science and engineering. These materials are used for our "Engineering Challenges" that range from light boards to robotic arms to self driving cars.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lavan

  • Digital Electronics Inventions

    Funded Oct 12, 2024

Thank you so much for your support. It means so much to my students and I. We will put it to good use in it amazing projects that inspire, educate, and since real world problems. My students are incredibly excited and can’t wait to begin creating, singing, and leaving”

  • High School Robotics Team (First Tech Challenge)

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Thank you so much. We had our first robotics competition this weekend on December 9th. My 4 teams travelled from Staten Island to Queens with our gear, tools, and supplies. My students had such a wonderful time and having the necessary supplies to be able to travel to this competition was amazing. My 4 robotics teams are all rookie teams and it costs a lot of time, effort, and money to get one team up and running, let alone 4.

We are so appreciative and put it to good use. We have another competition one month from now and I cannot express how excited they are and motivated from the experience we just had. They worked hard, had successes, had failures, but above all they are excited to work hard, learn more, and expand their skills.

Thank you so much for what we have been able to do.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lavan

  • 3D Printing Lunar New Year Self Driving Car Parts

    Funded Apr 22, 2023

Thank you so much. My students have been able to learn new skills that they otherwise would not have. Today, making things and shaping them yourself is not very common, so being able to envision, draw and design their project would simply be just a drawing without our 3D printers.

With your help my students also have been to learn put 3d designing to work. They have been able to use tinkercad to design their own projects for our Physical Computing class. Once they designed their projects they then learned the slicing software, how to upload their projects to the printer, level the bed, and debug issues as they arise.

These skills will be invaluable as they continue to learn and grow. Thank you again for all of your supports!!

    Sincerely,

    Jim Lavan”

  • Help my HS Kids Create Bluetooth Battle Bots From Scratch

    Funded Dec 20, 2022

My students have been learning and pushing their intellectual limits all year. Originally we created robotic arms from scratch that we had to manually push buttons to begin. Then we created self driving cars that used sensors and algorithms to escape from a maze. NOW my students are using the bluetooth modules to finally control their cars using their phones. They are extremely excited and pushing their intellectual and creative limits with these new materials and skills.

We are in the middle of our Battle Bot project and my students are eagerly coming to class early, staying late, and even coming during lunch to work hard and have fun. Thank you so much for your generosity. We are putting them to good use!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lavan

  • Future Builders, Coders, and Engineers

    Funded Apr 30, 2022

My students have been able to use the rechargeable batteries to make their robotic arms mobile. Instead of having to be plugged into a computer to power our Arduino microcontrollers, they now have an independent and re-useable power source that allow their creations to go anywhere.

My students were excited when I described the use for our power sources. Our second engineering challenge was to create our own robotic arms. We completed head to head balloon popping competitions using these power sources to enable students to use their robotic arms anywhere. Now that these arms are complete and have their own independent power source, we can move on to Engineering Challenge #3--Self driving cars. These cars will also need their own mobile and independent power sources.

Our 4th Engineering Challenge will be to mount our robotic arms (with their own power) onto the cars (again with their own power source) to engage in battle bot challenges. My students are incredibly excited, grateful, and working hard on our projects with the resources you have helped provide.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Lavan
