Getting Comfy and Learning in the Dual Language Kindergarten!
Funded Sep 6, 2019I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donations. My students got very excited when they learned that I submitted a request from donors to get the STEM materials, chair sacks and flexible sitting. When we finally received the materials they were so happy and wanted to play and use their imagination as soon as they opened the boxes.
The students who were in need of flexible sitting used the pump to inflate their own cushion and started using them right away. They enjoyed being able to get them ready and use them during lessons. Having these flexible sitting has helped them concentrate more during whole group lessons and also at their tables when working independently. Students love to use the stem toys during learning through play and math centers. They get to plan and talk about the structure they will build. At first it was difficult for students who have fine motor needs. However, using the toys has strengthen their fine motor abilities.
The chair sacks have benefited all of us greatly. Using the chair sacks to store their Spanish and English books have alleviated the chaotic mess which used to happen when they needed to find their books in book bins. Now everything is stored in one perfect place, ready for them to learn.
I am so happy that my students are benefiting from these materials. I hope donors can continue to help classrooms in needs such as our own.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Rodriguez
