Thank your for your generous donation to our classroom. We are slowly building our classroom Spanish library for this school year and future years. The books inspired our students to read more and form book clubs in their classroom. This improve their reading accuracy, fluency , and comprehension. We were able to accomplish our biggest goal which was to encourage to borrow books everyday. They moved away from electronic books, and remind themselves what it is like to hold a book. Thank you for all your support.”

  • School Supplies!

    Funded Sep 3, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations. Our classes were able to start the school year on a right foot. Many parents were not able to provide the amount the supplies due to financial reasons, but with the donations provided by you, they were able to release some stress. Not only did your donation help our students, but it came of great use in the following months to come.

As many of you may know or heard from the news we have an immense number of newcomers arriving at our schools. Many of these families have recently arrived from different parts of the world. As we welcome our new students to our school community , many of these new families worry about providing school supplies for their child. Since your donation provided extra supplies for our class this school year, we were able to provide new students with these supplies. Our new students and families were immensely grateful for the supplies provided to them as they began their new journey in this country.

We will be forever grateful of your donation to our Dual Language Classroom this school year. It help us provide our supplies with much needed materials to begin this school year successfully. Thank you !”

  • Welcome Back Dual Language Students

    Funded Aug 5, 2021

I thank you for donations to our classroom. Our students were able to begin the school year strongly. Parents were able not to worry about buying materials they may not be able to afford. We were also able to use these materials for journals to improve our writing skills in both languages. The materials helped us to create materials for small group instruction such as RTI in math and literacy. This helps us begin our intervention program at an early start. Thank you for all your support in our Dual Language classroom.”

  • Students in Need of New Headphones for Language Acquisition!

    Funded Mar 3, 2021

My students and I are forever thankful for the headphones you have provided. Students were able to work independently without disturbing other students' learning. They were able to use educational programs online such as Prodigy and Raz kids. Each students had their own headphones which in the times of COVID was very helpful. Students were able to take their headphones home to use during remote learning , which help them greatly especially to concentrate. Many of my students shared how the headphones helped them concentrate and hear much better with the background noise. Thank you”

    Funded Aug 5, 2020

Thank you for donations! My students and their parents are very grateful for your donation this year. Your donation came in time of great need for some families this year. This school year was very unpredictable since some days were in person but due to COViD cases we had move into remote learning. Thankfully the supplies we received from this project allowed at students to have some supplies in class and others at home. This made the transition from in person to remote much more smoothly. Funded Sep 30, 2020

We are immensely grateful for this donation. The materials given to our students were of a great help for parents who were not able to afford new supplies this school years. As I told parents that they need not worry about the supplies, their reaction was of immense gratitude. Parents were worried they will not be able to-get their child supplies they needed to start the new year. Students were very excited to receive all their materials inside their desk . This is year still was unpredictable and we found ourself going in person some days and others remotely. Due to this supplies students had enough materials at home and in class to continue their instruction.”

  • Book Clubs for Second Grade Readers

    Funded Mar 3, 2020

Thank you for the donations to our book clubs. My students enjoyed reading the books prior to Covid-19. Despite having to transition into remote learning , I continued reading the books aloud during virtual class. They enjoyed listening to the wonderful stories . We had great book discussion about our characters and wrote book reviews to encourage other children to read the book. The books will always be read by future students and inspire them to perhaps become future novelist. We love the books and we cannot wait to continued reading new chapter books. Thank you from class 205.”

  • The Power of Reading!

    Funded Oct 14, 2019

Thank you so much for funding our project "The Power of Reading". My students were delighted to receive the amazing reading books for our bilingual library. Everyday they enjoy book shopping for new books and filling up their book baggies with books of their interest. All my students have been enjoyed reading the books independently and in partnership. Their reading interest have increased over the past few months and their reading levels have improved as well. Not only have the students enjoyed the books but as well their parents. Students cannot wait to book shop everyday and share their favorite books with fellow classmates and family. My students and I are forever grateful for your donation to our classroom library.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shannon

As a child, I remember the pure enjoyment of book shopping every morning for new books to take home to read. My teacher had baskets filled with books of different genres that appealed to every child. Once I became a teacher I wanted to create a classroom library just like the one I grew up with. I wanted to fill baskets with books that made students excited about reading and expose them to new authors, and genre. My students love to read books about adventure, magic, mystery, history, and much more. As I complete my fourth year of teaching, I have learned that students enjoy reading books that involve topics of interest. Over the years I have been building a library that includes each of my students' interests. If I'm able to create an enriched classroom bilingual library, it will encourage students to read more at home and in school. Studies have shown that students will also improve reading level when they have the opportunity to read books that spark their interest. This year many students enjoyed reading characters books, graphic novels, and scary books. However this year I didn't have enough for all my students in my classroom. This project will allow all students to borrow more books of their interest.
