Many of my students do not have stable home lives outside of school. My goal with this project is to create a classroom that can help them feel comfortable so that they can be successful. My students need these materials in order to be successful. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student achievement, you will ultimately help to make the classroom a safe space that feels like home to these kiddos. They should not have to worry about obtaining any of these items at home so I want to be able to provide them. This includes pencils, folders, erasers for their daily classwork and the materials/notices that will be going home to get families involved throughout the school year. Whiteboards are something we use every single day in Mathematics. It's always an engaging way to practice our skills and show off our knowledge as a group so it is increasingly important that each student has their own whiteboard available at all times. The stools will benefit my table where I take small groups of students on a daily basis. In ELA, I will pull small groups of English learners and students receiving special ed. services to give them the one on one attention that they need during lessons. I have seen these children thrive in an environment with the bare minimum amount of materials so I can not wait to see what they can do when they have everything they need.
