A Book a Day Keeps the Monsters Away!

My students were excited about the books that we received. I was able to read some of the books to them and to my surprise some books were about being kind to one another. We were able to have conversations about how and why it's important to be kind. It gave me the opportunity to squeeze it into my SEL lessons. All of my kids were excited about the different options they received and were truly thankful. It allowed them to be excited about reading a book and work on their personal reading strategy goal in order to become fluent readers.”

I have a handful of students who have read through the books that are at their level. In order to keep them eager and excited about reading. I would LOVE if our classroom library would keep growing in order to have them intrigued in reading. I have a class full of ELL students and a class full of students who are building their reading stamina. In order to help my students reach the reading stamina goal and help with literacy strategies, I will have to have a variety of books. So they will become even better readers by the end of the school year.
