When students start kindergarten, often times this is their first experience in a school setting. Therefore, they have had little experience with numbers. We start off the year by counting and identifying numbers to five. These math materials are a fun and hands-on opportunity for students to build number sense. Students can understand relationships between numbers and quantities and develops skills in counting to 10, and it also builds fine motor skills. My hope is that with these math materials, students will have many opportunities to experience numbers. Students need to build a strong number sense for future learning.
