This rug has multiple uses. Beginning readers can use our new rug to learn the alphabet and help develop phonemic awareness as they begin to associate letters with specific sounds. Children will have their own special space to sit on this inviting rug. Our rug will help bring us together as a community of learners. Students will gather daily for a morning meeting, or enjoy story time. Students will work as partners or in small groups during center time on our comfy rug. I'm starting the school year with an empty classroom, and students who are just beginning their school career need a rug to feel warm and welcome. Students shouldn't have to learn on a cold tile floor, or have to stay seated all day at a table!
