Giving students autonomy and choice can be extremely conducive to learning and having confidence. Figuring out what works for them in each new setting gives students ownership and can help them feel that learning can also be fun. Flexible seating is something that works very well for students who are listening but may not exhibit those listening skills in traditional ways. Giving them someway to be able to focus and still get their wiggles out is extremely useful in the classroom setting. Students who need to feel some control over their ever changing world will enjoy the opportunity for choice.
