    Funded May 9, 2024

I am thrilled to share how your generous donation of vocabulary journals, calculators, and magnetic book holders has positively impacted our 6th grade classroom. The vocabulary journals have become an essential tool in our language arts lessons, where students actively record new words and use them in creative writing projects. This has significantly enriched their vocabulary and boosted their confidence in using language more effectively. The calculators have been instrumental in our math projects, allowing students to tackle complex problems with greater ease and fostering a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Meanwhile, the magnetic book holders have transformed our reading corner, keeping our books organized and encouraging students to engage more with their reading materials.

When the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was palpable. They eagerly explored the vocabulary journals, diving into new words with enthusiasm, and were equally thrilled to use the calculators in our math activities. The magnetic book holders quickly became a favorite, as students enjoyed being able to access their books effortlessly and keep their reading space tidy. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm and appreciation for the new resources.

Looking ahead, we are diving into a classroom project where students will create a multimedia presentation on a topic of their choice. The vocabulary journals will play a key role as they research and document new terms related to their topics. The calculators will help them analyze data and present their findings, while the magnetic book holders will keep their research materials and reference books organized. Your contribution has not only enriched our current lessons but also set the stage for more engaging and effective learning experiences in the future. Thank you once again for your support; it truly makes a difference in our classroom.”

  • Let's Read Together

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

Thank you so much for the generous donations to my classroom. We will be reading the novel next month and the students are really looking forward to it. We will be able to incorporate different activities that will go along with the novel.

Students will have the opportunity to research and write their own stories that will be published, bound, and put in our school library for others to check out and read. By giving to my class you helped my students find their inner voices and the realization that they can write their own story and no one else will have one like it.”

  • Creative Classroom

    Funded Mar 12, 2023

I love the fact that my students are willing to share with each other when it comes to calculators but it would be easier for them to use their very own. Most people carry a cell phone and they have a built-in calculator but not all of my students have one. Having a calculator helps even the playing field.

Having new playground balls allows my students the ability to play new and different games during recess and P.E.

Being able to I teach my students about different artists and their artistic styles. New watercolor paints will allow them to the ability to expand their creativity. The students were able to recreate their own versions and this helped them realize that they are all artists in their own right.”

  • Thinking Like a Scientist

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom. the students are very excited to dissect the owl pellets. they will create a PowerPoint presentation and then present it in front of the whole class. My students will also create small flip books to read to their second-grade reading buddies. I use the magnetic shelves to display books that we will be reading in class or that they may choose to read to their buddies. The shelving unit helps them know exactly where to find the books on the topic we are learning about.

The scholastic magazines are some of the student's favorite items to read. the articles are interesting and pique their interest that they want to research more in-depth into the subject matter.

Thank you again for all of your support and generosity. You make it possible for the students to have access to some of the best educational resources around.”

  • New Year, New Needs

    Funded May 6, 2022

My class was so excited when I showed them that they would each have their very own watercolor set. We immediately got to work painting leaves and other things from nature. They have enjoyed the assigned work from the myths and legends book. They are learning about different Ancient Greek gods and goddesses and then creating their own version of the myth.

The students have found that by having the paper organizer they are much more organized when turning in papers that need to be graded. They really like having colored pencils and sharpies to use while doing their classwork.

The physical education part of the day has become their second favorite part with all the new volleyballs. The class has found it much easier to determine who is on what team when using the jerseys. Thank you for all your kindness and generosity in fulfilling my student's school day with fun activities”

  • Learning All Subjects Through Art

    Funded Aug 26, 2021

My students were thrilled to receive the supplies. They could not wait to use the physical Education supplies. They came up with new and different ideas on how to use the ping pong paddles and balls. In one of the photos, you can see that they figured out how to play ping pong four square. It takes a lot of hand-eye coordination to make sure the ball bounces into the next square.

Each student was able to have their own art pad and watercolor set. On sunny days we went outside and they were able to take a closer look at the grass and leaves on the trees they were then able to incorporate that detail into their individual artwork

Now that the students have tested out the equipment and art supplies we will begin to study cells and forces of motion. Both of which are part of our state standards. With your support, my students are able to learn and play at the same time. Thank you for all your help.”

  • Experiencing Hands-on Science

    Funded Dec 31, 2019

I had big plans to use the science supplies you helped provide my class after we had returned from Spring Break. Unfortunately, that never happened. The world went into lockdown and the school year ended. I still plan to use them but with my class of 2021/2022. I will be using the supplies to assist the students with realizing that everything is intertwined and that math, language arts, and science are all interconnected.

I look forward to watching my students learn and explore with the help you gave me.

Thank you again for all your generous support during these strange and trying times.”

  • Making Math and ELA Come Alive Through Art

    Funded Oct 5, 2020

This has been one of the hardest and longest school years. Despite all of the new twists and turns, my students have learned. Their scores went up dramatically on their end-of-the-year assessment. I believe this was due because they were able to use the supplies you helped purchase to make math and language arts come to life.

Students were able to create art projects that coincided with what they were learning about. For example, in Math, we were learning about Area and its relation to Geometric shapes. With the art supplies, students were able to create 3D dog houses and decorate them to have a doghouse contest. Many of my students do not have access to simple art supplies such as colored pens and journals. I gave each student a set at the beginning of the year allowing them to tap into their imaginations while working online which helped bring the content to their everyday life.

When we were able to go back into the classroom for a month, I was able to really dive deep into the biography and style of different artists. Students were able to read, write and figure out how much their art would sell for if they were the artist. This allowed for Project-Based Learning combining all subjects into one lesson. None of this would of been possible without your support and generous donations. Thank you for everything!”

  • New School Year, New Teacher.

    Funded Jun 17, 2019

Reading is a fundamental skill and many children by the time they reach 6th grade have given up on it because it is no longer fun but boring. With your generous donations all of my students will be able to fall in love with reading again. They have already proven to me that if you allow them to pick what they want to read they will gladly do it and will be able to have a conversation about the literature.

I am implementing flexible seating around the class when it is independent reading time. Many of my students have never had that option before now that they get the chance to sit on the floor or at the teachers desk they are more involved with the reading material and want to talk about it afterwards.

The students are able to choose what they would like to read. By having magazines, books, flyers, newspapers, and other reading materials I am able to get them all excited about reading and it shows when they are asking me if they can read for a longer stretch of time.

You have helped me make sure my classroom is prepared and that the materials are new and interesting. My students are very lucky to have such supporters in their lives. Thank you so much. Getting smart together is our goal and with the reading materials I see us be able to win and succeed. Thanks again.”

    With gratitude,

Many of these needed supplies will be used by the students. The clipboards will allow them to create anywhere within the classroom or school. By providing the listed supplies my students will be able to immediately start learning without having any worries about if they will be able to purchase them. These materials will be a great asset to my classroom as it will relieve financial burdens and contribute to the academic success of students. I chose resources like Science World and Storyworks magazines that I have found to be effective in a middle school classroom. With your help the purchase of these materials will help create a classroom everyone will be proud of!
