The materials requested for my classroom have spots waiting for them already. The first area rug will be placed in the front of my classroom for a gathering place. Shared reading, read-aloud, meetings, and instructional time will be spent on this carpet. The second area rug will be placed in the back reading corner where our class library is located. This will allow a comfortable place for student to sit and browse through books and plant a spot to enjoy a book during our read-to-self time. The stools will be placed at the back reading table to offer flexible seating during guided reading groups and other small instructional groups. By donating these materials to our classroom, you will provide a sense of community and choice to students with seating options. The carpet provides comfort and a family style setting for group work and instructional periods. The stools provide choice in other seating options for flexible seating times. My students will love having a cozy, comfy rug to sit on and fun stools to use for flexible seating.
