I envision an environment for my second graders to work while feeling natural and comfortable. Children that are seven and eight years of age have different movement needs. Some need to move, some like to stand up to work, some like to find a space of their own where they can focus. I want my students to be able to enjoy learning and to be successful in an environment that is developmentally appropriate for them. They will be able to use cushions in their chairs to help with the wiggles. For those who need constant movement, they can use the wobble chairs and exercise balls. The seating can be moved around the classroom and children are able to choose what works for them. I am so excited to watch my students be successful in second grade through the implementation of flexible seating.
