Learning Through Play
Funded Oct 24, 2022I want to thank you for allowing our science center to become the exciting place to be within our classroom . The enthusiasm of seeing how gears work and how one piece of a gear leads to the success or failure of the entire unit. The fossil eggs were a hit as the children and their parents discovered what was inside. We then incorporated it into our exploration of visual discrimination. The smiles and engagement created an environment that a teacher only wishes for. You heard statements such as, "Can I do it again?" " Mrs. Mondone, look at this!" "I think I discovered... how do you know?" The items you so kindly donated created and continue to make my students engaged, excited and question how and why things work. Our future scientist truly appreciate your generosity.”

Light Me Up!
Funded Feb 22, 2022We wanted to thank you for your generosity and kindness in making our classroom simply the best. By funding this project you have allowed the children to have more things to explore with on our light table. When the resources first arrived you could see the eyes of each student just light up. They were eager to begin to explore immediately. That excitement has not diminished at all. Each day there are so many students that want to explore the resources that I have had to create a waitlist in order to accommodate all the students who want to explore and discover new information about tangrams, the value of numbers, and expanding their understanding of letters and their importance. I have recently seen children trying to create their names with the letters, counting the number of letters in their name and then looking for the number to match the value.
Once again, thank you for your commitment to the education of my students. You have made this school year one for the books!!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Mondone
Thinking Like a Scientist and Mathematician
Funded Feb 18, 2022We want to thank you for your very generous donations. As a result of your kindness my students have being exploring the resources daily which has been ,to simply put, great! When the children were first introduced to each item they were given an opportunity to touch it, examine it, and discussed where we should put it in our room and why. Since that first day, the children choose them for their center time, they are beginning to ask more in depth questions when exploring and investigating the resources. For example, we are no longer just looking at the insects but thinking about how and what they need to live, how to make our environment better for them and I have even heard the children discussing the importance of insects in our community.
The light table has been a huge hit among my little scientist. The children can independently change the colors and explore different items such as insect cubes, puzzle pieces, magnetic tiles and mathematical tools as well. The light table brings excitement into our room that just wasn't there before the table arrived. The children also just love using the measuring monster scale. We have been exploring the concept of more and less than, weight, and grams. It has also been wonderful to use to incorporate the skills adding, counting up, simple subtraction and finding how to make the scale be balanced by having an equal amount on both sides.
I can not thank you enough for your generosity and dedication to our classroom and
my students.”

Chick Hatching Project
Funded Nov 18, 2019Thanks to your generosity my students were able to participate in many science activities. We utilized the equipment that you so kindly purchased for us to investigate corn, gravel, and seasonal foods. Due to the Corona Virus we, at this point, were not able to explore, discover and learn about the hatching process, but I want you to know that we have used and will hopefully continue to use, in a few weeks, the materials sent. When we return to school I will update my photos and let you know just how much my kiddos loved the science equipment. Thank you so much.”

Chicka, Chicka, Boom, Boom There Are Scientists in Our Room!
Funded Feb 13, 2020We are thrilled to have been given the opportunity to bring the life cycle into our classroom. This is all due to your belief in education along with your generosity. The “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom there are Scientists in our Room” project will be the highlight of not just my classroom but the entire school as well. Thanks to you we will be developing the love for science, critical thinkers, empathy towards others and above all the excitement of learning.”
