Intentional playtime is intended to meet students where they are, encourage imagination and creativity, as well as an incorporate collaboration in my classroom. In small groups, students will work together with modern manipulatives to creatively imagine and develop something new as a team. My first graders might be seen using Magna-Tiles to build a castle, roll Play-Doh to form into letters, or creatively build a car while investigating ways to make it move. Six and seven-year-olds have AMAZINGLY CREATIVE minds and it is my goal this year to give them the opportunity to express that creativity in an engaging way, using the materials that you sponsor.
