  • A Special Place to Learn Together

    Funded Mar 3, 2022

This was the most amazing donation. It made the most difficult year of my teaching career a little easier. It gave the children a place to gather and learn together.

The children in my classroom never had the opportunity to sit among their peers and get lost in a book. This gave them that opportunity and so much more.

It also gave my current class the opportunity to start the day together. We gather everyday.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to transition my room into a true early childhood classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Galford

  • Help My Wonderful Learners

    Funded Nov 5, 2021

With your help I was able to purchase many printable decodable readers. These books help the children to work on what skill they need and it is not based on just a reading level.

These books have really helped the students to start reading, more than half of my class is reading. These books help the children to work on what skill they need and it is not based on just a reading level.

With your help I was able to continue my research of teaching with the Science of reading and I believe it is really making an impact .

Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Galford

  • Help a First Grader Get Lost in a Book!

    Funded Oct 24, 2019

My students have enjoyed exploring these books during our non fiction reading and writing units. We have also been using the fiction books during guided reading and we have seen a lot of growth during reading time.

Reading has can from five minutes of looking and flipping through books. To almost 20 minutes of quiet independent reading.

My higher level students have particularly loved the non fiction books and are thriving with learning all animals.

We thank you so much for supporting our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Galford

We have about 32 children in our first grade classrooms. Having the opportunity to use small group instruction about four children per group with guided reading books gives each child the opportunity to grow and expand as a reader on the exact level they need. By working in small groups with the proper guided reading books we can help each child to leave first grade reading exactly where they need to be. Each child in the group will have the same book as their teacher so they can follow along and whisper read which helps to Increase their potential to increase their vocabulary
