Many of my students are reading below grade level with limited word recognition and fluency levels. Mostly the entire class is serviced by the free and reduced-lunch program, and many parents and family members agree that encouraging the students to read is a challenge. Another common challenge is behavior, as issues arise when students are not engaged and excited about learning. With all this said, the students are more than thrilled to use electronics, especially when they have the ability to use it on their own. They take pride in individualized activities and truly understand the need to take care of valuable possessions. While learning might not come easy for many of the children, the joy they exhibit when they find success is indescribable!
