Together is Better!
Funded Sep 7, 2019I cannot thank you enough for your donation to this project. My students and I are loving this easel and how versatile it is in the room. We use it every day for so many things. I love how I am able to have easy access to all of my stuff without having it in the way. We can bring this easel all over the room for various activities. The kids love writing on the board and doing math problems. They also love using the magnet letters to form words and sentences. This has been a true blessing in my room. Thank you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gerardi

Funded Jun 11, 2019I want to thank you very much for your contribution to this very special project. My students came to school on the very first day asking when they could sit in the "comfy" chairs and use the desks. Their enthusiasm from day one made the transition to a new school year so much easier.
In the past when we would begin our writing or reading workshop, students would sit on the carpet and then transition to their desks to begin their work. This was cold and uncomfortable and it did not make the students want to write for very long. Having these alternative seating choices, my students are eager to begin and keep working for much longer than before. They can also collaborate with a writing partner easily with the desks.
I have a student who is really having a difficult time this year with his schoolwork. He has very low self esteem and needs a lot of encouragement. He has given himself the role of putting these chairs and desks away every day (we have limited space, so they fit nicely under a table in my room). Most of the students have difficulty. This small responsibility has made him feel so successful, I can see his face light up when it is time to clean up and he proclaims "I need to help with the writing tables!".
This project has helped my students with their schoolwork and made collaborations much easier. But it has also given responsibility and encouragement to a young boy who really needs it. I sincerely thank you for helping me add this to my classroom.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gerardi
