  • Snacks for Pre-K

    Funded Dec 11, 2023

Thank you so much for your donation of snacks for our Pre-K 4 class! It alleviated the financial need for the teachers and parents in the class to provide snacks for these students. Since our grade level has lunch first in the morning, it's very hard for these students to last all day without a little snack to eat before they go home. Our school also does not provide the students with a snack so it's up to the teachers or parents to provide these for the students. This donation was appreciated by both teachers and parents.

    Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fischer

  • Books for the Holidays

    Funded Nov 7, 2023

We are so grateful that each student got to take home their own hard copy of their favorite Pete the Cat book! They were so excited to open their wrapped books right before the Winter Break. They can recite the book to themselves and they can even make a connection with their parents by reading it to them at home.

They love talking about what they would step in and what color their shoes would turn. They have even talked about that time that they got their Pete the Cat book and took it home and that was a month ago.

Thank you so much for your contribution to giving our students each a great gift!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fischer

  • Dress Up Clothes and Storage

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for the dress up clothes and the storage rack for them. Our class has really enjoyed them during our Clothing Study! They love the different ways they expand their imagination while in the Dramatic Play center as well. The clothing rack is also very helpful to teach the students how to take care of their clothes.

They especially love pretending to be firefighters and show their bravery with their hats. They also like to use the clothing rack as a baby bed which really shows their creativity.”

  • Books for Summer

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for providing each of my students with a copy of a Llama Llama book they can read at home this summer with their families. They will be entering kindergarten next year and a lot of them are nervous about it and learning how to read. This book will be a good resource for them so they can feel more confident in their abilities to read.

The Llama Llama books have been a favorite all year and this one was book that they have not read yet. They were very excited when they saw that they got one of their very own. Thank you so much!”

  • Outdoor Storage for Toys

    Funded Jan 3, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to our Outdoor Experience! We can now store so many toys outside for the students to access while they are outside, instead of storing them inside and taking up valuable space in our classrooms.

Each teacher in Pre-K was able to place some items from their classroom to the storage benches to free up so much more space. The students really like to run straight to the storage benches to pull out the toys they want to play with outside and then put them right back in the benches when it's time to clean up.”

    With gratitude,

  • Music Center Makeover

    Funded Apr 3, 2023

Thank you so much for contributing to the musical arts in our classroom! Our students are going to be so excited when they get to experience and learn how to use these instruments! It will also be very nice to have a new shelf to display them on for easy access for the students.”

  • Felt Story Telling

    Funded Jan 12, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to our class's storytelling materials!

One of my students was having a really rough week since his dad is on deployment with the military and I had the felt story telling board our during Center Time if anyone wanted to retell The Three Little Pigs with the felt board. He did not get a turn to use the felt board to retell the story that morning and he was so upset. He did get to use it in the afternoon and that really helped him to feel better in the classroom and he was able to be cooperative with other students and not get so frustrated with them.

It may not seem like much, but these students really enjoyed using the felt board and we will continue to use it for the rest of the year with different stories and songs.”

  • Dollhouse Furniture and People

    Funded Jan 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your contribution to our once empty dollhouse. It is now full of lovely furniture and people for the kids to play with. It's now a new favorite place to play and the kids are learning lots of social-emotional skills through playing with it. They are learning about compromising, inclusivity, waiting their turn, amongst other skills.

I have even suggested setting up a donation request on Donors Choose for my other colleagues that are in need of supplies like dollhouse furniture.

Thank you again for your generosity.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Fischer

I have a dollhouse, but no furniture to put in it and the students haven't been playing in it because of that. During Choice Time, the students are free to explore the different centers (blocks, art, books) and learn how to interact with their friends. My students would like to play in the dollhouse and have shown interest, but there isn't any furniture to play with. My students would love to explore the different rooms of the dollhouse and set up the rooms how they would want to and play with different dolls they can make. Since my students are low income, this would benefit them to see how other people set up their houses.
