Hands-on and kinesthetic learning in the elementary classroom will enhance curriculum and create many unique and memorable science learning experiences. Hands-on learning is the process of learning by doing. To be most effective, hands-on activities should mimic a real-world scenario as much as possible. We are seeking funding to provide models, projects, classroom pets, and activities for elementary students to learn numerous science concepts. There are significant advantages that illustrate why hands-on training is better than other more traditional learning methods and why elementary schools should incorporate hands-on activities into your live classroom training. I am requesting a Physical Science Activity Lab Complete Set to provide beneficial hands on learning for my students. The hands-on activity labs give students an engaging way to explore physical science! Each lab comes with cards that walk students through exciting, skill-building experiments…plus all the materials needed to complete each one, and an informative guide. Children just display a card in the wooden stand, then follow the simple instructions to complete the experiment—and bring concepts to life! We’ve even included fascinating information on the back of each card that explains the science behind each experiment and how it relates to the real world. I am also requesting a Water Cycle Activity Set that illustrates a complete small scale water cycle in a model that is an exciting way to learn. The fully-functional 3-D model allows the students to duplicate individual processes of evaporation, condensation and precipitation of the water cycle. Set broadens the understanding of water cycle. I am also requesting a remote control creature creation snap circuit set. Kids design real-moving creatures and circuits...that they build and control by snapping the pieces together. Another hands on activity request is the Ladybug Land. It is a metamorphosis kit for ladybugs.
