  • Igniting Curiosity: Hands-On Science and Math for Engaged Learning

    I am so excited to know that such wonderful people stepped up to help me build hands on science and math stations for my students, and l I can't thank each of you enough for your kindness and generosity. The Can Do! Science activities will give them a chance to explore science on their own and the math manipulatives with help them build a strong foundation in numeracy. I can not wait to see their faces when the supplies arrive but more importantly I can not wait to see the excitement on their faces when they start learning and exploring!   • ABC and Number Fun with Osmos

    Funded May 6, 2020

    My students love the Osmo's that we got to use along with our kindles. It is a way to make the kindles more hands on. They can build with shapes, write words with letter pieces and learn more about numbers. It makes my kindles more than just a tablet.

    The kids were very excited when they saw the Osmo's set up for the first time. I didn't have one kid who had seen these before. They were very curious and thought that they were very neat!

    It's so fun to see their brains working to figure out how to turn shapes to build a picture, or sound out a word to figure out what letter to use. The Osmo's have been a game changer this year! Thank you so much for donating!”

  • Pre-Kindergarten Learning with Technology!

    Thank-you so much for helping me get a set of Kindle Fires for our classroom. My students are busy learning letters, words, numbers, counting, shapes and several other important skills. The Kindles allow us to introduce another way to learn each of these things. The students love when they get to use the tablets during stations. The kindles are a treat for them and they don't even realize that they are learning while they are playing games.

    We have found an app that will read books to the students on the kindles. They love to listen to the stories, and it helps them get AR points after they hear a story a few times. It's fun for the kids to see that the stories we read in books can also be listened to on the kindles.

    We also have an app that teaches the letters and letter sounds. The kids love this app because it keeps track of their growth and shows how much they have learned. They love to compare and show their friends how much they have grown.
