Technology plays a big role in our children's lives these days. It has the power to strengthen new skills and take students to places and learn about things that they would never find in their own back yards. Giving children purposeful and meaning reasons to use technology in my classroom has always been important, and even more so now. With use of the Chrome books, I envision my students being able to go on to Youtube and watch a video on how toothpaste is made during our How To writing unit. I envision them using applications such as Moby Max and Pebblego to learn more about the world around them. I envision them being able to listen to and read stories on their reading level and answer comprehension questions in Raz Kids. I imagine them being able to use other programs that will strengthen their math skills as well. In this computer literate world, allowing the students regular and consistent access to these Chromebooks will be a great asset to their education.
