WHO: These tablets and laptop will allow my 5th - 8th grade technology students to Power Up and fuel the robotic missions in the FIRST Lego CityShaper competition challenges. With the addition of 4 tablets and 1 laptop, double the number of students will circle through the engineering design process learning how to research, plan, code, execute and retool in preparation for this Fall's robotic competitions. WHAT: We are elevating our FIRST FLL robotics program to engage more 5th - 8th grade technology students to collaborate, build, problem-solve, and explore, all while deepening their STEAM learning using scratch-based and Python coding that is interactive where students can see their builds in action and test and refine their problem-solving skills! Why: To impact a greater number of students to learn how to construct, code, and compete to maintain the sustainability of our school's robotics competition program. Through competitions our students experience how to work as a team, collaborate with multiple teams to achieve solutions, and celebrate wins and defeat graciously. HOW: At the end of competitions, the tablets and laptop will roll into the after school robotics club program during the Spring semester to expose more students to improving academic, technical, and communication skills with science and math applications. . With these added tablets and laptop access will double from 40 students to 80 students.
