  • Flexible Seating and Personal Tools for Student Success

    Funded Aug 6, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity early in the school year. We have been using the small white boards almost daily. Your kindness has allowed me to quickly assess understanding as we learn new skills in word work and math.

The post-it charts have been vital to our writing and math success. Examples, definitions, and lists are posted around the room and students can easily access and move charts where they need them. The pencil sharpeners have kept students' writing utensils sharp and ready to go, with limited wait time to get to a sharpener, thus giving more time for writing and learning. The floor cushions have allowed for greater opportunities for flexible seating during all kinds of activities.

Thank you for caring about students you may never meet, for valuing public education, and for investing in my students' futures!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meredith

  • Colorful Collaboration

    Funded Aug 2, 2021

Thanks to your generous support of my project, materials are organized and ready for students to work and learn from each other.

The pocket charts have allowed me to schedule helpers for classroom jobs and to make those visible to all students. The magnetic pockets have allowed for easy access to materials needed for whiteboard work as well. Students have kept items organized when finishing projects, thanks to these tools.

The plastic pouches have allowed for easy use of learning objectives as well as personal sized classroom charts, available to students any time. The pouches also allow for students to have additional practice using dry erase markers and activities placed in the pouches for work in centers.

Thank you again for your donation. You have helped put learning tools at students' fingertips.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meredith

  • Teacher Tech

    Funded Aug 15, 2021

Thank you so much for helping me fund needed classroom materials.

The mobile tech desk and chair have made it possible for me to keep my devices in one place and move them around the room as needed, multiple times a day, to work with small groups or one on one at different centers around the room.

The voice amplification device has enabled me to speak to my class clearly through my mask. Articulation is critical for Newcomers to learn the English language. Additionally, clear articulation is vital for understanding directions. My students are successful and learning because of your gift. My students have frequently mentioned how nice it is to be able to understand more clearly directions, stories, and guidance.

Thank you for contributing to a better learning environment for my students.”

  • Super Supplied from the Start

    Funded May 20, 2021

Thank you so much for helping this project come alive. My students were so surprised to learn of the generosity of so many people, most of whom they didn't even know.

The impact of the supplies your gift provided has made life a little less stressful for all my students. Glue sticks, pencils, writing journals, and crayons are essentials of nearly any elementary classroom. Having these items readily available means no student has to be embarrassed or stressed when they don't have one of those items. No worries--those items have been provided, and every student can focus on their learning, not on what they don't have.

Thank you again for helping my students have the tools they need to be successful this year!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meredith

  • Reading and Writing: Fun and Games

    Funded May 21, 2021

As a new school year approaches, I am preparing for something new: departmentalized 4th grade instruction. I will be focusing on English/Language Arts, and your contribution will certainly help my students and me embrace this change and take full advantage of our intentionally focused time.

The learning games purchased in this grant focus on critical reading skills as well as helping students understand writing practices and put them to work through fun and engaging activities. This will certainly be a change from what they might be expecting.

Thank you for sharing your kindness with my class in this way. Your gift will allow my public school students to learn and grow in a more interactive way. Thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meredith

  • Reading Corner Redone

    Funded Apr 23, 2021

Thank you for your contributions to help remake our reading corner!

Students loved the folding floor seats. They were definitely a draw to the reading corner. The chairs made for much more comfortable floor seating.

The new tower bookshelf was also a great way to get students' attention. As we wrapped up the school year, they were definitely patrolling each other on keeping books neatly arranged by author.

Both the students and I sincerely appreciate your contributing to such an engaging place for students to enjoy reading for years to come.

Thank you for supporting public schools in this way.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meredith

  • More Kids, More Supplies

    Funded Jan 1, 2021

As my class size swelled, I grew more and more concerned about supplying students with all that they needed to be successful with even basic work.

I remember the day student 25 arrived. I had just had this project funded and knew supplies were on the way, but they hadn't arrived yet. I welcomed student 25, assured him there were no worries about his missing supplies, that he would have some shortly. I took my class to specials class, and then when he returned, supplies were on his desk! Packages had begun arriving during specials time, and it couldn't have come any sooner, as student 26 and 27 arrived the following day!

Needless to say, students were thrilled to know they need not worry if their families could afford supplies or not. Crayons, pencils, chair storage pouches, rulers, protractors, and more arrived just in time, and the entire class was relieved. We aren't allowed to share supplies, and the students who had access to their own supplies were nearly as excited for their new classmates as those new classmates were to see and receive the supplies.

Our class size has held steady, between 27 and 28 students. We have recently completed lessons and a lab on electricity and will be moving on to aerodynamics soon! Our supplies will make it easier to complete lab assignments and lessons.

Thank you again for your generosity. You have demonstrated to students that there are many people they don't even know who do care about their educational journey.”

  • Organized and Ready to Learn!

    Funded Aug 15, 2020

Surprised and beyond excited--those are words to describe students' reactions when they came into the room and found their chair pockets. These pockets along with pencil holders have allowed us to keep needed supplies within easy reach of students.

We store dry erase boards, writing journals, markers, clipboards--anything that sometimes can get lost in the desk and that we use often is right there, in the pouch, ready to grab at a moment's notice.

Thank you so much for your contribution. Your gift allows me to keep students safe while keeping supplies close at hand and separated.”

  • Camera Ready

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

WHAT A DIFFERENCE! This camera has made classroom experiences so much more interactive and my students have commented frequently since receiving it how 'cool that camera thing is' and how 'that thing really lets us see what's going on!'

With coronavirus protocols in place, I cannot gather students around a large table quite like I would like or work with groups and share stories and projects quite like I would prefer. This camera has given me the opportunity to demonstrate and share in a way that every student can see what's going on.

I plan for students to share their work with the camera as well as soon as I have permission to do so. This camera is also making recording of lessons for any online learners so much easier. With the built in microphone, the camera allows me to be able to work under the camera and give instruction at the same time. My students have enjoyed the results of this immensely. Thank you.”

  • I Can Hear You!

    Funded Jun 11, 2020

Thank you for the gifft of headphones for each of my students. Thanks to you, each student can now focus on their individualized iPad education programming without disturbing others. Our classroom is back in person, and we are not allowed to share any supplies. By ensuring that each of my students has their own headphones, you have given back valuable instructional time for individuals and small groups since I no longer have to stop and sanitize each pair of headphones in order for another student to use them and begin their online portion of work.

I am most excited about these headphones specifically because they were designed for frequent use with children . They fit well, they are durable, and the colors make them fun and desirable for kids. Should we need to transition to virtual learning, I plan to send these headphones home with students with the hope that it will create something familiar in their home learning experience.

Several of my students have sensory challenges. Your gift has allowed them to filter noise to some degree as well, even when their headphones are not plugged into their device. This was an unexpected benefit that I had not anticipated. This is another indication of how well designed these headphones are.

Your gift has already made a huge difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Meredith

I am walking into a 4th grade classroom after having spent 6 years out of teaching to serve in an education advocacy roll. Prior to that I taught kindergarten for over a decade. I am starting from scratch. I want the learning environment to be engaging from day one, with learning supplies ready and available in an atmosphere that is motivating and supportive. For those students who had older siblings or family who may remember me as a K teacher, I want them to see that this is NOT a kindergarten class, that this really is their fourth grade space equipped with learning supplies that will help them get started right away. These materials ( pencils, banners, chalk, dry erase board and markers) are essential items that will make the learning space feel as if it has been fourth grade all along.
