Dance Class Props and Calming Corner
Funded Sep 18, 2024On behalf of my students and myself, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of our dance classroom. Your contribution has made a significant difference in the way we approach our lessons and has had a direct, positive impact on our students' learning experiences.
The resources you provided have been a huge hit with the students! They've been excited to engage with the new materials, particularly creating obstacle courses, which allow them to explore different pathways in dance—such as straight, curvy, and zig-zag. Through these activities, they are not only enhancing their dance skills but also developing important abilities like spatial awareness, balance, coordination, taking turns, and patience.
Additionally, the calming resources, including the sensory bottles and sensory toys, have been incredibly beneficial. Many students have used them to relax and re-center themselves, enabling smoother transitions back into class. The sensory tent has also become a go-to space for those needing a brief break, providing a calm, quiet environment to recharge.
It is clear that these new resources have made a tremendous difference in our classroom, both for me as a teacher and for my students. Your generosity helps foster an environment where creativity, learning, and personal growth can flourish, and for that, we are truly grateful.
Thank you again for your support of our dance program and the arts. Your donation is helping shape a positive and nurturing space for all my students.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Powers

Funded Aug 21, 2024I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude for your generous support of my dance classroom! Both my students and I have truly benefited from the resources you provided, and I am excited to share how these items have positively impacted our learning experience.
Each class begins with my students standing on their poly spots during warm-up. These spots help to organize the classroom, giving students a clear understanding of their own space for movement. The clock and timer have also proven invaluable, providing a structured time frame as students work on creating their own choreography. These tools have been instrumental in teaching students about time management and spatial awareness within the dance classroom.
One of the most rewarding aspects has been seeing the joy on my students' faces when they use the dance props. Throughout the year, they have utilized them during various units, such as freeze dance, exploring personal and general space, and even creating our own dance based on The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.
Thank you again for supporting the arts and for making such a positive impact on my elementary school students. Your generosity helps foster creativity and growth, and we are so grateful for your contribution.”

Mrs. Powers
Help us learn to Tap Dance!
Funded Jan 17, 2024Thank you for your donation towards the purchase of tap shoes for our dance program. Your support means a great deal to us, and it has made a significant impact on our ability to provide quality dance education to our students. The students were so excited to see so many pairs of tap shoes in different sizes for them to use.
With these additional tap shoes, students have access to proper footwear that enhances their experience in class. Students have been learning about past and current tap dance figures as well as performing specific tap steps. We have been learning choreography that incorporates the steps we have been learning in class. In the future, we would like for scholars to create their own tap choreography.
Our school is grateful for your belief in the importance of arts education and your commitment to empowering young dancers. Your generosity will continue to inspire and uplift our students for years to come.
Once again, thank you for your support and helping scholars learn to tap dance!”

Funded Sep 12, 2020From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for your support! With your help, we were able to supply our students with headphones that have allowed them to engage more fully in the remote/hybrid setting. The headphones allow students to not only hear instruction, but the built-in microphones allow students to respond to their teachers.
My students have persevered during this unique time in history. They started the year in blended learning. This means headphones were a part of learning both in the classroom and at home, while they engaged with teachers who were in-person and remote. Then, our school switched to fully remote. My students were able to effortlessly make this transition because they had the tools they needed to succeed. Thank you again for your support in purchasing headphones with a built-in microphone for every single one of my 6th-grade students!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Powers
