Generation Geniuses
Funded Nov 30, 2021Thank you so much for helping out our classroom by providing funds for Generation Genius. My students look forward each day to the fun exciting video that this website provides. We use Generation Genius in both Math and Science.
In Math, it gives multiple problems in real world settings. This provides an extra way to be taught how to learn any given concept. For example, to learn time, they were shown the way time is used every day but also showed the different parts of a clock and even why they are made they way they are. At the end of each video is a fun review song so that can hopefully remember the concept a little better.
We use Generation Genius for Math but its real value is Science. The Science videos are packed full of cool experiments for the students to see. They also provide really good vocabulary words, more songs and at home projects that the students can try themselves. To be able to see these experiments, helps the students to not only remember about the concepts but more importantly to understand the patterns and the Why questions.
Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH! We appreciate it so much.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Countryman

Funded Mar 31, 2020In the classroom, we use technology every single day especially during Covid. In our district, we are teaching both face-to-face as well as virtually at the same time. This means that often, I have my in person kids finishing assignments while working with my virtual kids. Headphones help them to be able to focus on their work.
The students enjoy having their own pair of headphones that they can keep at their desk and do not have to share with the other students. This is especially important as we try to not share anything to keep each other safe.
I am so grateful to have this resource during such a difficult time. Thank you so much.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Countryman
Oh, the Technology We'll Use
Funded Jun 19, 2019The technology in our classroom has been so helpful! The ease of being able to move around the room without wires has been life changing. The students are able to easily show off their work on the screen for everyone to see. Their faces light up when they see their work projected on the big screen.
Since I am a Math teacher, we work with a lot of manipulatives. The students are able to show what they are doing on their table and explain their thought process. This helps the other students because hearing how a problem is solved being explained by another student can really help them understand in "kid speak."
Another way we use the Apple TV is for calming music and we can display what is happening in the Steinhart Aquarium while they work. They absolutely love this and passion in the classroom means a growing love for learning. This is the most important part of being a teacher.
One last way is we are able to play GoNoodle videos on the projector so they can get up, move, and have brain breaks easily. This has been especially helpful since we have had so many indoor recesses. These moments of movement help their blood get flowing and they have so much fun.
I just wanted to say thank you! My students appreciate your awesome donation. The smiles on their faces mean all the world to me. We couldn't do it without you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Countryman
