My students will use these supplies to help them be successful in building their literacy skills. Most concerning is that some of my 3rd grade students are non-readers! My older students also lack essential skills for processing textual information. With these essential literacy tools, my students will excel in their efforts to become amazing readers and writer. Most of the materials I have in my classroom are NOT manipulatives, and the workbooks become monotonous and do not motivate students. Using manipulatives such as flashcards and other activities motivates students to achieve success and meet their goals for reading and writing.
