  • E-Readers to become Effective Readers!

    Funded Sep 1, 2019

Thank you soo much for providing our students with Kindles!! Reading is an instructional goal of ours and we are so lucky to have these kindles so that the students can read and find books they enjoy! It also makes creating lessons suitable for all children on all reading levels able to participate in class! Some of our students struggle with reading or do not read on an eight grade level. The kindles offer the audio version that allow students to follow along and keep up with the rest of their class. Also, students are able to highlight and go back in the text to justify their statements!

We are truly blessed to have had this project funded! Our students have benefitted from them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Willis Matos

As with everything, students interest in novels changes from year to year. The books we currently have are out-dated or there is not enough for a class sets. We can plan a unit one year and the very next the students interest have changed and the books prove to be ineffective. In order for students to be interested in reading we need to provide interesting material to engage them in the learning process! Students with diverse learning styles or that are on different reading levels would greatly benefit from a kindle because the various genres that students can obtain are within fingertips! A class set of Kindles would allow for small group instruction or reading groups that would teach students to take control of their learning.
