This classroom project was brought to life by Emerson Collective and one other donor.

My students compete with students with all kinds of abilities and backgrounds. They do not have all the life experiences, resources, or opportunities that other more fortunate students have in their lives. They often have to battle difficult life situations. Through reading these books my students will be able to broaden their perspective on themes outside the scope of their daily lives. This is not just about passing the AP test, but about giving my students an opportunity to go beyond the expected. I wholeheartedly believe that through reading they can gain valuable lessons to take with them wherever they go next.
