  • Learning, Building, and Growing with Headphones

    Funded Aug 20, 2023

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all your donations. I can't tell you how much students have benefitted from these headphones. Not only can they focus better on their virtual instruction but they can also engage with audiobooks and other student led inquiry.

It has been wonderful to also see the students take such good care of them. We have table captains to make sure all the headphones are wrapped up carefully into their group bins and returned to the counter.

Thank you again these headphones have been truly impactful for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McDonough

  • Developing Skills for Our Future Technology Based Careers.

    Funded Sep 27, 2019

Thank you so much for funding my project. I had no idea that we would be so fortunate to get funding. I really appreciate your investment in our kids futures. There are not enough words to express my joy, gratitude, and thanks. My students and I are so very appreciative of your support for education and creative, hands-on technology based learning. We are looking forward to receiving these Chromebooks. They will be a great tool as we continue to grow and learn in the classroom. We can't wait to share some pictures of us using our Chromebooks! Thank you again!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. McDonough

Much of our technology is not compatible a lot of our equipment is not up date to integrate 21st century standards. Having access to Chromebooks would allow an easier long term cheaper solution that will have a greater impact on their education. For example buying a single book set on a topic versus using Chrombooks to have infinite access to texts and programs. There are so many programs we would have access to that would allow students to work collaboratively on writing or STEAM projects or exploring the world we live in. To keep up with our science and technology PhET Sims to increase STEAM literacy. Teachers can filter simulations by grade level and topic and use them to explore different ideas in the classroom. The goal of this organization is to increase STEAM literacy worldwide and create engaging interactive content that encourages students to ask questions and explore topics beyond what the common core demands. Another program is Learn About the WorldThe goal of Learn Around the World is to use technology to connect students and educators globally. They have events and collaborative projects where students can work with people in different countries, and virtual field trips for exploring foreign lands. LATW also has guest speakers and private events that teachers can take advantage of. Imagine speaking with someone who lives in Buenos Aires while learning about Argentina. Your students can ask questions and use their curiosity to spur discussion.
