Choice Reading has exposed students to types of books they never knew existed. There is a sense of accomplishment in reading their books, an excitement to them as they talk about their books, and a sense of confidence as they learn they are capable of doing and liking things they never thought they could or would. Having the classroom library there gives students time, everyday, to sit and engage with the book and drown out the rest of the world. It also gives them a chance to share what they've read with their fellow classmates. The classroom library is a chance to explore their interests and discover new things about themselves.

About my class
