  • Give the Joy of Reading to Students

    Funded Feb 27, 2025

Thank you so much for giving the possibility of reading to the students of Clara Barton in French class. As a language teacher, providing my students access to books in the target language is the easiest way for them to be exposed to different francophone cultures . I am very appreciative of your generous donations.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cajou

  • Bibliothèque Francophone/ French-Speaking Library

    Funded Jul 17, 2023

Thank you for supporting my French-speaking library project. Your donations are proof that you believe in multilinguism. Because of your donation my students will have access to a wide range of authentic texts this upcoming academic year.

I can't wait to share the good news with the students.

    Thank you very much.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cajou

  • Healthy Snacks Help Us Focus During After School Activities !

    Funded Aug 30, 2019

I am very grateful for your donations because it helps retaining students in French cinema/cartoon since they do not have to worry about receiving healthy snacks. They are very appreciative . The first time they saw the chips and the juice, they had no idea it was for them. When my colleague told them they had snack they became very excited. One of them said "great I am starving". Every Friday during French cinema/Cartoon each student receives a pack of chips, 1 juice and pouch of fruity candies. We will do so until the food we have runs out. Since we received the donations, each Friday they happily look forward to coming to French cartoon and eat their snack before we start the movie. Having snack together forces them to interact with each other and peers because they are sharing foods.I am very grateful to all donors for making one of wishes come true for my students.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Cajou

This year I am teaching French cinema on Fridays from 2:35-4:00 and Haitian creole language for beginners on Thursdays from 2:35-4:00 every week. The students are usually eager to participate in after school activities; however the need to eat can force them to skip after school activities and go home early. I personally know students for whom food is very scarce at home, so asking them to stay in after school activities , and not provide them something to eat after a long day of school makes it hard for them to remain focused and engaged. Often times some of them do not eat the foods that the cafeteria offers because of allergies or they are vegetarian or vegans. I am truly hoping that my project will be founded, so my students can have fun during after school without worrying about what they are going to eat.
