By offering flexible seating I will also be offering my students the oprotunity to make choices. Choices allow students to take responsibility of their own learning. Any time my students are working independently or with small groups they will be able to choose a seating choice that best fits their personal needs. Currently I have 3 clipboards, 2 cushions, 1 small rug, and the choice to stand. Just those few choices alone have helped keep my students more engaged.
Students that are engaged, problem solve, and make decisions concerning their own learning, are more likely to be life long learners.
